Every now and again, a blogging thread will do the rounds amongst the community. Now, I love a good Q&A type thing, it lends itself EVER SO well to my nosey nature.
I love finding out all about people, especially my writing peers. I love to learn what makes them tick, their loves and their hates, we all have a story to tell and these ‘tag’ posts do a fantastic job of helping other bloggers get to know their counterparts.
I’ve been lucky enough to be tagged in a post called “Sunshine Bloggers”, something I feel in dire need of as we head into Winter. My sun soaked trip to Marbella is something of a distant memory as I wrap myself up against the elements in my Wilko’s fluffy blanket. I hate the cold.
The 2 lovely bloggers who have nominated me to take part in this post have posed a series of questions to me, I’ve been asked to keep the tag going and choose a number of bloggers to answer my questions I put to them.
So, with no further ado, let’s get on with the show.
Series 1, questions set to me by Media Mummy.
1.If someone gave you £100 right now, what would you spend it on?
The sensible part of me says save it. Or use it to make the smallest of dents in my extremely large credit card bill. The frivolous side of me says I’d go to Cabot Circus and likely head into Zara to add to my winter wardrobe. In reality, I’d probably use it to buy my son some Birthday presents.
2.Starter and main, or main and dessert?
If you’d have asked me 5 years ago I probably would have said main and dessert, these days I’d probably go for the former. Especially if there was some sort of goats cheese on the menu. I bloody love the smelly stuff.
3.What’s the happiest moment you’ve had in the last 6 months?
It’s hard to pinpoint one as I’ve had some great times over the last 6 months. As Mum, it would be seeing the smile on my son’s face when we went to Peppa Pig World, watching him give his heroes Peppa & George a huge hug; he was in his element. As Rach, it would be seeing Sia at V Festival back in August or watching Coldplay in Manchester way back in June. Or maybe filming with the TOWIE lot in Marbella. This year has been SO much fun. And expensive. SO BLOODY EXPENSIVE.
4.Where are you sitting writing this?
I’m currently sat on my sofa. I have said Wilko’s blanket draped over me. To my left I have my cat napping (when I die, I want to come back as a cat). In front of me I have my almost 3 year old doing Davina McCall’s fitness DVD. Don’t ask.
5.Describe your perfect Sunday.
A slight lie in. Waking up around 8am with the sun beaming through my window. I’d have a cup of tea in bed, and indulge in a spot of writing. It would be the best article I’ve ever written and would go viral. I’d then get up, shower, my hair would look perfect for a change. I wouldn’t have to wrestle with my jeans to get them on. Myself, my son and my other half would then go for a long walk, we’d feed the ducks and go for brunch. My son would eat his food with no whining. We’d then go for another walk, perhaps to a park. There would be an abundance of laughter and we’d finish the day back at my Mum’s for Roast Lamb with all the trimmings. Mother’s roast potatoes would be the best she’s ever done and I’d enjoy a large helping of M&S chocolate trifle. Perhaps even having seconds. I’d then roll into bed to find Gavin & Stacey or The Office being televised. Heaven.
6. Which animals would you choose to be stuck in a cage at London zoo with and why?
Penguins. Every bloody time. If I could have a pet penguin it would validate my life.
7. Favourite TV programme at the moment?
Emmerdale. It’s slaying.
8. How much sleep did you get last night? (careful)
10 hours. Which is rare. Please don’t hate me.
9. Tell us your normal weekday morning routine getting everyone up and out.
I work every day. Monday, Wednesday & Friday from home or the nearest café to my son’s pre-school. Tuesday & Thursday in the office. If I’m in the office then I’m up at 5:30am and on the bus stop not long after. I’m an early riser but I’m usually in bed at 8pm.
10. What’s the most annoying toy in your house and why?
Last weekend, my Mother, in her infinite wisdom, decided to gift my son with her old oven timer. He’s obsessed with numbers and counting down etc, you see. If I have to hear the damn thing going off one more time I’m going to stand on it. I know it’s not a toy but it’s annoying.
11. Who inspires you and why?
So many people inspire me. People who have made a success from their lives despite overwhelming challenges inspire me.
Series 2, questions set to me by Mrs Mummy Harris86
1. Who was your childhood celebrity crush?
Sylvester Stallone in Cliffhanger. I was an odd child.
2. What has been your favourite post that you’ve written to date?
Ooooo this is a tough question. Probably this one; Breast Is Best…But At What Cost? It’s the one I’m probably most proud of. Despite the barrage of criticism I received. Perhaps it’s an idea if you don’t read the comments.
3) What advice would you give to fellow bloggers?
Don’t fixate yourself on numbers and stats (easy to say, hard to put into practice). Don’t compare yourself to others. And don’t stress yourself about finding a niche. Just do you.
4) If you could survive on one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Pizza. The dirtiest, filthiest pizza which would likely be from Domino’s or Pizza Hut. I’d be going large every sodding time.
5) What song would you say is the soundtrack to your life?
Chandelier by Sia would be the soundtrack to my twenties for sure.
6) Who would you get to play you in a movie?
Widow Twankey. The likeness is uncanny.
7) What are your aims for your blog?
Despite being asked to review various items & products etc., that’s not what I’m about. My ultimate dream is to be paid to write, paid for my opinions and paid for Reality TV reviews. I just love to write, it’s my passion.
9) What came first, the chicken or the egg?
It’s too early for questions like this. I haven’t started my brain up yet.
10) If you could vote anyone in as Prime Minister, who would it be?
Jonathan Pie. Check him out, I want to marry him.
